Audio Effects
Audio Effects are plug-ins you can insert into the audio chain that “effect” the sound in some way. Many modern effects model or derive ideas from old hardware units, while some use the power of modern computers to manipulate sound in new ways. You can explore and learn about common effect types using the links below. Remember:
- The dry signal is the unaffected, original sound
- The wet signal is with effects. Often, you can control a mix of wet and dry to acheive the sound you want
- Effects are non-destructive, so if you experiment in your DAW and don’t like what you create, you can just take the effect off and go back to the original sound.
